At Abitare, we sensitively renovate the original fabric of a building while maintaining the sanctity of the space. Each design is done keeping in mind the contextual surroundings, the functional requirements and the traditional architecture of the existing built form.

Anandpur Sahib, Ropar

The architecture of Sri Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara is a blend of Mughal and Rajasthani styles, with a central dome and several smaller domes, arched colonnades, and intricate marble inlay work. The gurudwara’s main entrance is marked by an impressive gateway with intricate carvings and a golden dome.

Inside the gurudwara, the main prayer hall has a high ceiling and is decorated with intricate frescoes and mirror work. Taking from the essence of the place to build a legacy, our new structure of the sarai blends contemporary design with the rich heritage of Anandpur Sahib.

Poanta Sahib Gurudwara

A stunning example of Sikh architecture, the Paonta Sahib Gurudwara is characterized by its elegant blend of traditional Indian and Islamic styles, with influences from the Mughal era.

The main entrance is marked by a beautiful archway, leading to a central courtyard and the main prayer hall. The intricate decorative elements include carved marble pillars, painted ceilings, and ornate gold-leaf work.

Maintaining the tranquility of the space, we focused on the colour white to create a sense of peacefulness and serenity.

Rakabganj Gurudwara, Delhi

The architecture of Rakab Ganj Sahib reflects a blend of Mughal and Sikh styles, and is known for its simplicity and elegance. The main entrance is marked by a tall gateway, known as the “Darshani Deori,” which is adorned with intricate marble work and a high arched facade.

Tilak Nagar Gurudwara, Delhi

The architecture of Tilak Nagar Gurudwara is a testament to the simplicity and elegance that is characteristic of Sikh architecture. The use of natural light, the focus on functionality, and the blend of traditional and modern elements all contribute to the peaceful and contemplative atmosphere of the gurudwara.

Sis Ganj Sahib Gurudwara, Delhi

An important Sikh shrine located in Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi, India, the gurudwara is located right infront of the Red Fort and is part of the heritage corridor. The architecture of Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib is a blend of Mughal and Sikh styles and is known for its impressive beauty.

The gurudwara’s main entrance is marked by an impressive gateway called the “Deori,” which is adorned with intricate marble work and a high arched facade.

The interior of the prayer hall is decorated with intricate frescoes, stucco work, and mirror work. The hall has a high ceiling and is illuminated by natural light that enters through a series of windows.

Overall, the architecture of Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib is a testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of the Sikh religion, and it is considered one of the most important gurudwaras in Delhi.
